Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-05-22

This page describes what data howtosolvecube.com collects, how it is used, and what choices you have. We collect the minimum necessary to run a useful site. This is a general-audience educational site and is not directed at children; we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-first, cookieless analytics service that records aggregate pageview counts and basic device/region information. It sets no cookies and stores no identifier on your device, so it runs for all visitors without requiring consent. Cloudflare acts as our data sub-processor under their standard Data Processing Addendum; see Cloudflare's privacy policy at https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/ for details on how they handle data on our behalf.

We also use Google Analytics 4 with Google Consent Mode v2 (Advanced). Until you accept analytics in the consent banner — and also if you reject it — Google Analytics runs in cookieless mode: it sets no cookies and stores no identifier on your device, but your IP address and browser information are still sent to Google, which uses them only to produce aggregate, modeled statistics — never to build an individual profile about you. If you accept analytics, Google Analytics additionally sets its standard cookies (e.g. _ga, _ga_*) to measure full user-level metrics. Google may process this data in the United States under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (to which Google LLC is certified) and Standard Contractual Clauses. You can change or revoke your choice at any time via the 'Privacy preferences' link in the footer, and you can opt out of Google Analytics entirely using Google's browser add-on (https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout).

Legal basis: we rely on our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) in understanding how the site is used to run the basic, cookieless aggregate measurement described above, and on your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR) for cookie-based, user-level analytics — which you give in the banner and can withdraw at any time. You have the right to object to the legitimate-interest processing at any time (see 'Your rights' below). Our analytics processors are Cloudflare and Google; we set no additional retention period, and data is kept according to each provider's own policy.

Cookies

The only cookies we set are Google Analytics cookies (e.g. _ga), and only if you accept analytics in the banner — no other third-party tracking cookies are used. The site also stores a small amount of preference data in your browser's localStorage — theme choice, timer solve history, your consent choice, and similar — which never leaves your device.

Advertising

Google AdSense is currently paused during the site redesign. We do not load any third-party ad networks, so no advertising cookies are set. We may re-enable ads in the future, at which point this policy will be updated and a consent dialog will be shown to users in jurisdictions that require it.

Your rights

Under GDPR and similar regulations, you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your data, and to object to processing we carry out on the basis of legitimate interest — including our cookieless aggregate analytics. The main personal data involved is the IP and browser information processed by our analytics providers as described above; we hold very little that identifies you directly. To stop cookie-based analytics, reject or withdraw consent in the banner; to opt out of Google Analytics entirely, use a browser that blocks analytics requests or Google's opt-out add-on (https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout).
